Nathalie Gröbli and Matthias Brügger in the lead of the first Downhill training

The first training runs for FIS Oerlikon ski races – Swiss Junior Championships, speed events, took place this Monday on the Mont Lachaux slope, in the sun, in good conditions and above all without any incident.  The team that prepared the piste, under the guidance of Markus Murmann, once again provided excellent work.

At the end of the women’s training (38 athletes classified), amongst whom two Junior Swiss champions who take the first two places, Nathalie Gröbli (SC Emmeten/Nidwalden), current Alpine Combined champion and Julie Dayer (SC Hérémence/Valais), Downhill champion in 2013 and Super G champion in 2014.  Only 17 small hundreths of seconds separate these two Cadre-C participants.

For men, Matthias Brügger (21 years old) from Frutigen made the best training time (82 athletes classified) ahead of the surprising Marco Odermatt (17 years old/SG Hergiswil).  This season, Brügger, the talented « Allrounder » joined the ranks of the Swiss-Ski Cadre-B.  For the anecdote, Brügger was only barely two years old when he put on skis for the first time!
