Following the modernisation process of competition Alpine skiing undertaken by the International Ski Federation (FIS), the Ladies Parallel Slalom which has taken place in Courcheval/FRA constitutes a test for this new competition formula. A delegation of the Organisation Committee for the World Cup races in Crans-Montana, made up of President Marius Robyr, Secretary Sophie Genoud, and Race Director Markus Murmann (photo left to right), travelled to the Tarentaise region. This is because the FIS considers that the final part of the Mont Lachaux piste is ideal for this kind of discipline. Moreover, the FIS have already awarded a Ladies Parallel Slalom to the Valais Haut Plateau, scheduled for 28 February 2021. Depending on the feedback from the public and viewers, the FIS is planning to introduce this discipline in the World Cup, World Championships and Olympic Games.
