A great FRIEND of the Crans-Montana World Cup races, and a great man, has left us

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we learned of Hubert Bonvin’s death. This man of character, a federator and an enthusiastic communicator, knew how to captivate audiences with his speeches. A lover of Alpine skiing, he lent great support to the development of races on the Haut-Plateau. Hubert was delighted to welcome the ‘White Circus’ back to Crans-Montana in 2008. He was very proud of the Ladies Classic that now takes place here every year.

Vice-President for the unforgettable World Championships in 1987, he was wholeheartedly behind Crans-Montana/Valais’ new bid as candidate for the organisation of the 2025 World Championships, and he made this clear during the 2017 World Cup races (our photo).

Although he was suffering serious health problems, Hubert, with his dear wife Gaby, once again demonstrated his unconditional support on Saturday 21 October when he attended the raclette evening organised for the FRIENDS OF THE CRANS-MONTANA WORLD CUP.

We offer our most sincere condolences to Gaby, and all his family.
