The five upcoming yearly white Circus events in Crans-Montana will be held for speed and Alpine Combined Ladies races. All of the competitions will take place on the Mont Lachaux slope – the Ladies Downhill slope for the 1987 World Championships – completely modernised during the past few years.
Based on experiences from the Ladies world Cup competitions held in 2014 on this very selective and spectacular slope – certain experts have called it the "Streif" for Ladies – various sectors have been modified.
Thanks to the great involvement of the Société des remontées mécaniques CMA over the past few months, important works are taking place throughout the Mont Lachaux slope and on the lower part of the Nationale one, where ultra performing mechanical snow makers are being implemented. More than 30 « Techno Alpin » snow canons are being put into their respective locations on concrete bases, next to which there are storage spaces for electric cables, and air and water pipes, elements that are also necessary for the perfect functioning of these machines.
At the arrival area, all necessary electric cables for the organisation of the competitions and for television are placed underground. To the north of the building, the spectator zone was able to be enlargened by approximately eight meters, thereby guaranteeing a bit more space for the supply stands, located in this same area.
The arrival schuss, same for both slopes, the Mont Lachaux and the Nationale, now has a jump, just as spectacular for spectators and for fans who will be there. The Slalom slope is not part of this. We await jumps of approximately forty meters from the best athletes there.
