18.02.2022 – A great honour for the Crans-Montana alpine ski races! Marius Robyr, President of the Organising Committee, had the pleasure of welcoming Lieutenant General Laurent Michaud, the Chief of Joint Operations Command. He is responsible for the planning and operations management of Army operations and missions, notably for the provision of units for major sporting events organised in Switzerland.
For the 2022 World Cup in Crans-Montana, there are 220 soldiers from an artillery battery from the Canton of Ticino, Artillery Group 49 under Lt Col Paolo Colombo, bttr log art 49, under the commands of Major Gandhi Sylla, reinforced by soldiers from the Ecole Sanitaire 42, meteorological soldiers from the Air Force EI Brigade and traffic control specialists.
During his visit, Maj. Michaud inspected infrastructure and piste sector detachments. He was able to see the excellent work and good team spirit that prevails among the troops. Marius Robyr cordially thanked him for the Army’s commitment and unconditional support.
